New York [US], October 24 (ANI): Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Observer State of Palestine Riyad al-Maliki has said that over two million Palestinians are on a survival mission every day, every night and that Israel’s massacre against the Palestinian civilian population must be stopped.

“Over two million Palestinians are on a survival mission every day, every night,” the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs said while addressing the UN Security Council on the Israel-Gaza crisis.

He said, “We are here today to stop the killing, stop the massacre being committed against the Palestinian people. The ongoing massacres being deliberately, systematically and savagely perpetrated by Israel occupying power against the Palestinian civilian population under its illegal occupation must be stopped.”

He said it is the UN Security Council’s duty to stop them. “The international community is obliged under international law to stop them. It is our collective human duty to stop them,” he said.

Al-Maliki said, “Continued failure at this council is inexcusable.”

He added, “By the time representatives are done delivering their speeches today, 150 Palestinians will have been killed including 60 children. In the last two weeks, over 5,700 Palestinians have been killed including over 2003 children and 1300 women.”

“Almost all those killed by Israel are civilians. Over 1 million have been displaced, and 1,70,000 housing units destroyed. More injustice and more killing will not make Israel safer,” he said.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has said aid agencies need unimpeded access to Gaza, The New York Times reported.

The UN agency that aids Palestinian refugees said 54 trucks have entered Gaza from Egypt over the past three days carrying food, water and medicine.

The agency said this is far short of the roughly 500 aid and commercial trucks that entered Gaza daily before the war. It added that aid agencies need unimpeded access to the entire territory.

Recently, a third fleet of vehicles carrying essential aid made its way into Gaza through the Rafah crossing with Egypt, as per CNN.

Gaza, home to over 2 million civilians, faces the ongoing threat of severe dehydration and starvation due to Israel’s persistent bombardment and complete blockade.

Over the weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, a total of 34 trucks transported much-needed supplies, including food, water, medications, and medical equipment from Egypt to Gaza via the same crossing. (ANI)
