The Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Norway convened their third session of political consultations in Muscat today, showcasing the unwavering commitment to strengthening their bilateral relations. The meeting served as a platform for fruitful discussions on various regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Heading the Omani delegation was Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, while the Norwegian delegation was led by Andreas Kravik, State Secretary of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.
The discussions commenced with a thorough review of the robust and cordial relations that exist between Oman and Norway. Both sides reiterated their shared dedication to further enhancing cooperation across all domains.
In addition to bolstering their bilateral ties, the meeting saw both parties delve into pertinent regional and international matters. Among the topics addressed was the ongoing aftermath of the Israeli conflict in Gaza, an issue of significant global concern.
The session was graced by the presence of key dignitaries, including Ambassador Sheikh Humaid Almaani, Head of the Foreign Ministry’s Global Affairs Department; Ambassador Munther Almandhari, Head of the Europe Department; Thomas Lid Ball, Norway’s Ambassador to Oman; and Kjersti Tromsdal, Norway’s Special Envoy to Yemen. Officials from both Oman and Norway joined the discussions, underscoring the shared commitment of the two nations to maintaining open channels of dialogue and cooperation.
