  • NTA changes exam centre for JEE Main in Sharjah.
  • Paper 1 and Paper 2 exams scheduled for January 2025.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important notification informing candidates about a change in the examination centre for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025, specifically for candidates in Sharjah, UAE. According to the official notice, the new exam centre for JEE Main 2025 in Sharjah has been relocated to the Scholar Training Institute, located at 1501-1502, The First Tower, Al Majaz-3, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The new centre is identified with the Pincode-50001. This change in the exam centre is significant, as it will affect all candidates appearing for the exam in the Sharjah region.

JEE Main 2025 is an essential examination for students aspiring to pursue undergraduate courses in engineering and architecture. It serves as a critical gateway for admissions to premier institutions such as the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and other state-recognized institutions. Furthermore, JEE Main is the eligibility test for the JEE Advanced exam, which is required for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

The JEE Main 2025 exam is scheduled to take place over two sessions: the first session will be held in January, followed by the second session in April 2025. Paper 1 of the JEE Main exam will be conducted from January 22 to 29, 2025, and will be a computer-based test (CBT) for candidates seeking admissions in BE/BTech courses. Paper 2, which is meant for candidates applying for BArch and B.Planning courses, will be held on January 30, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Paper 2 is divided into two subcategories: Paper 2A for BArch, and Paper 2B for BPlanning.

JEE Main Paper 1 will cover subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, with Section A consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and Section B featuring numerical value-based questions. Both sections of Paper 1 will have negative marking. On the other hand, Paper 2A for BArch will assess candidates’ abilities in Mathematics and Aptitude in a computer-based format, along with a drawing test conducted offline on A4-sized sheets. Paper 2B for BPlanning will include Mathematics, Aptitude, and Planning-based questions in CBT format.

The duration for Paper 1 and individual Paper 2 exams will be 3 hours, with an extended 4-hour duration for candidates with disabilities (PwD). The combined Paper 2A and 2B exam will last 3 hours and 30 minutes, with 4 hours and 10 minutes allotted for PwD candidates.

Candidates who are registered to appear for JEE Main 2025 should be mindful of the updated exam centre location in Sharjah, UAE, and ensure they follow all the official guidelines provided by the NTA. As JEE Main continues to be one of the most crucial examinations for engineering and architecture aspirants, candidates are advised to be fully prepared and stay updated on any further announcements from the NTA.

The NTA’s decision to change the exam centre in Sharjah highlights the agency’s ongoing efforts to ensure a smooth and secure examination process for all candidates, even amidst the logistical challenges presented by the global pandemic and other unforeseen circumstances. With the exam dates fast approaching, candidates must remain vigilant in their preparations to ensure they perform well on this highly competitive examination.
