The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially commenced the counselling process for NEET UG 2024, marking the beginning of an important phase for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate medical courses. The registration process for MBBS, BDS, and BSc (Nursing) programs has started today and will continue until August 21, 2024. This marks a critical opportunity for students who have cleared the undergraduate medical entrance exam to secure their seats in various medical institutions across the country.
Candidates can register on the MCC’s official website to participate in the counselling process. Following the registration, the choice filling and locking facility will be available from August 16 to August 20, 2024. The seat allotment process is scheduled to take place from August 21 to August 22, 2024, with the results to be announced on August 23, 2024. Students who receive their allotment will need to report or join their respective colleges between August 24 and August 29, 2024. Verification for candidates who join after the initial allotment will be conducted from August 30 to August 31, 2024.
Round 2 of the counselling process will commence from September 4 to September 5, 2024. During this round, the seat allotment and verification will be carried out from September 11 to September 12, 2024. Students allotted seats in this round will need to report or join by September 14 to September 20, 2024.
The counselling will cover approximately 1.10 lakh MBBS seats available in around 710 medical colleges across the nation. Additionally, 21,000 BDS seats, as well as seats in Ayush and nursing programs, will be allocated. The MCC will oversee the counselling for 15 percent all-India quota seats, 100 percent seats at all AIIMS, JIPMER Pondicherry, central universities, and deemed universities.
This significant step follows the final results of the NEET UG 2024, which were released on July 26, amid previous controversies surrounding the exam.
