South Indian superstar Nagarjuna, in a conversation with Indian lyricist Chandrabose and songwriter MM Keeravaani, disclosed his upcoming travel plans. Initially planning a trip to the Maldives, Nagarjuna revealed that he decided to cancel his tickets, not due to fear, but for other reasons.
After working continuously for 75 days on projects like “Big Boss” and ‘Naa Saami Ranga,’ the actor shared his change of plans: “Now, I have canceled my tickets, and I am looking forward to visiting Lakshadweep next week.”
He went on to explain his decision: “I didn’t cancel the trip out of fear or any such concern. The reason behind canceling the tickets was that it didn’t feel right. The statements and actions made were not conducive to a healthy atmosphere, and considering our Prime Minister’s position as the leader of 1.5 billion people, it didn’t sit well with me.”
This decision comes in the context of Indian film stars like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Shraddha Kapoor, along with other prominent figures, encouraging people to explore Indian islands and coastal destinations amid a controversy over negative comments made by Maldivian ministers following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep.
Salman Khan wrote- “It is so cool to see our Hon PM Narendrabhai Modi at the beautiful clean n stunning beaches of Lakshadweep, and the best part is that yeh hamare India mein hain.”
Akshay Kumar– “Came across comments from prominent public figures from Maldives passing hateful and racist comments on Indians. Surprised that they are doing this to a country that sends them the maximum number of tourists. We are good to our neighbors but why should we tolerate such unprovoked hate? I’ve visited the Maldives many times and always praised it, but dignity first.”
Shraddha Kapoor– “All these images and memes making me super FOMO now Lakshadweep has such pristine beaches and coastlines, thriving local culture, I’m on the verge of booking an impulse chhutti.”
