A serious debate on online trolling and mental health has emerged after popular YouTuber and former Bigg Boss contestant Anurag Dobhal allegedly attempted suicide during a live stream on social media. The incident, which reportedly took place on Saturday night, has sparked concern among fans and fellow celebrities.
According to reports, Anurag Dobhal, widely known online as “UK07 Rider,” went live on Instagram while driving his car at high speed. During the livestream, he appeared distressed and emotional as he spoke about personal struggles and family issues.
The situation escalated dramatically when Dobhal allegedly drove his car into a divider while still on the live broadcast. Following the incident, he was reportedly seriously injured and was later admitted to a hospital in Meerut. Reports suggest that he suffered injuries to his neck and back, and his condition has been described as critical.
The incident has triggered widespread discussion about mental health and the role of online harassment in worsening personal crises.
Comedian and reality television personality Munawar Faruqui responded to the situation by urging people to take mental health issues seriously. In a video shared on his Instagram account, Faruqui criticised the culture of online trolling and the tendency to dismiss emotional distress as attention-seeking behaviour.
He pointed out that people often encourage individuals struggling with mental health issues to speak openly about their problems. However, when someone does attempt to express their feelings publicly, they frequently face ridicule or accusations of seeking publicity.
Faruqui questioned the environment created by online platforms where people are mocked even when they share deeply personal struggles. He said that whether a person is speaking out for attention or not, the public should at least listen to what they have to say instead of immediately judging them.
The comedian also stressed that family-related issues can be extremely painful for individuals. According to him, many people may be capable of facing challenges outside their homes, but conflicts within the family can deeply affect their emotional well-being.
Faruqui further revealed that he had attempted to reach out to Dobhal after watching the video. He said he tried contacting people close to the YouTuber and urged him to take care of himself.
Actor Aly Goni also spoke out against the trolling directed at Anurag Dobhal. In a message shared on social media, Goni criticised those who mocked or ridiculed Dobhal during his distress.
He expressed disappointment over the behaviour of online users and said that those who make fun of someone in such a situation should reflect on their actions. Goni also prayed for Dobhal’s recovery and hoped that he would overcome the difficult phase.
Popular YouTuber and social media personality Elvish Yadav also shared a video expressing support for Dobhal. He appealed to people to show empathy and avoid spreading negativity during such sensitive situations.
Several other public figures and influencers have also voiced support for Dobhal and wished him a speedy recovery.
The controversy surrounding the incident reportedly began earlier when Dobhal released a two-hour video on YouTube discussing personal problems. In the video, he claimed that his family members were allegedly harassing him because of his inter-caste marriage.
He also revealed that his wife had reportedly left him, which he said had deeply affected him emotionally. During the video, Dobhal appeared emotional and repeatedly spoke about suicidal thoughts.
After the video went viral, Dobhal reportedly faced heavy trolling on social media platforms. Many users criticised him, while others questioned the authenticity of his emotional distress.
The situation worsened when Dobhal later went live on Instagram. During the livestream, he appeared visibly upset and spoke emotionally about feeling isolated and lacking support.
At one point during the broadcast, he reportedly addressed his mother, saying that if he were to be reborn in another life, he hoped to receive love. He also spoke about feeling alone and unsure of whom to call for help.
The livestream showed him driving his car while playing music. According to reports, the vehicle’s speed reportedly reached around 144 kilometres per hour during the broadcast.
Shortly afterward, the livestream appeared to show a sudden steering movement toward a divider before the broadcast abruptly ended.
Following the incident, Dobhal was taken to Subharti Hospital in Meerut for treatment. Doctors are currently monitoring his condition as concerns about his health remain high.
The incident has reignited conversations about the responsibility of social media users and the need for greater awareness of mental health issues in digital spaces.
Experts and public figures have repeatedly warned that online trolling and harassment can have serious psychological consequences, particularly for individuals already facing emotional distress.
The response from celebrities such as Munawar Faruqui, Aly Goni and Elvish Yadav highlights growing calls for compassion, responsible online behaviour and greater attention to mental health concerns in the age of social media.
