The Mumbai crime branch has initiated legal action against gangster Rohit Godara in connection with the firing incident at Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence. The Mumbai Crime Branch has formally named Godara as an accused in the case.
The firing occurred on April 14 outside Salman Khan’s residence at Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area. Subsequent investigations uncovered connections to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, prompting authorities to invoke the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against all individuals involved in the shooting.
According to the Mumbai Crime Branch, 6 suspects have been arrested thus far in relation to the Salman Khan firing case, while 4 others remain at large, with efforts underway to locate them.
One of the recently apprehended individuals is Harpal Singh (37), who was arrested from Fatehabad in Haryana. Harpal Singh’s arrest came following revelations during the interrogation of another suspect, Mohammed Rafique Choudhary, who allegedly received financial support from Harpal Singh to conduct surveillance around Salman’s residence.
Police officials disclosed that Anmol Vishnoi, brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, played a significant role in motivating the shooters. After receiving a weapons delivery in Panvel on March 15, 2024, Anmol Bishnoi provided the shooters with detailed information about the target, instructing them to carry out the firing at the actor’s residence.
The planned firing incident was executed as per instructions, during which the shooters received a total sum of ₹3 lakh.
The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to gather further evidence and pursue additional leads.
