On Tuesday, the Raj Bhavan in West Bengal, along with several other government establishments across India, received hoax bomb threats, escalating concerns over security. The threatening message claimed that multiple explosive devices were placed inside the buildings, intending to cause significant casualties. Identifying themselves as “Terrorizers 111,” the anonymous senders targeted not only the West Bengal Raj Bhavan but also the cellular prison in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Bihar Raj Bhavan.
Kolkata police, after preliminary investigations, have dismissed these threats as hoaxes. Efforts to identify and apprehend the individuals behind these alarming messages are ongoing. This incident follows a pattern of similar hoax threats sent to various institutions around the country in recent months, highlighting a troubling trend of targeting critical infrastructure.
