During the second day of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Samanvaya Baithak in Kerala, the focus was predominantly on mobilizing international support for persecuted Hindus in Bangladesh and addressing internal challenges. The meeting, which has drawn significant attention, saw a concentrated effort to engage with global and national bodies to advocate for the Bangladeshi Hindu community.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has directed all affiliated organizations to take proactive measures in supporting Bangladeshi Hindus. According to sources, the organizations will be submitting petitions to various UN bodies, including the UN Human Rights Council, as well as to government ministries such as external affairs and home. These petitions aim to build global support and apply pressure on the interim Bangladeshi government to ensure the safety and security of the Hindu community.
In addition to petitions, there is a push for signature campaigns to garner public support. Pragya Pravah, one of the RSS-affiliated organizations, has reportedly collected over 100,000 signatures, with plans for more campaigns underway. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to advocate for the rights and protection of Hindus in Bangladesh on the international stage.
The RSS meeting also addressed the issue of caste-based divisions within Hindu society. Senior functionaries discussed the need to counter divisive forces promoting caste biases. To address this, the RSS has emphasized the importance of expanding outreach efforts to strengthen relationships with Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Dalit communities. The goal is to combat casteist agendas and promote unity within the Hindu community.
Interestingly, the discussions at the meeting showed a marked absence of electoral or political discourse. BJP president JP Nadda’s presentation focused on organizational matters rather than electoral strategies. The meeting’s agenda was primarily concerned with organizational cohesion and strategic planning, with prior discussions on election results having taken place in Ranchi.
The RSS leadership underscored the necessity of maintaining unity among all affiliated and inspired organizations. This unity is deemed crucial for enhancing the collective strength and effectiveness of their advocacy and organizational efforts.
The ongoing Samanvaya Baithak is expected to continue addressing these issues and reinforcing strategies to support both the Bangladeshi Hindu community and internal organizational cohesion.
