Billionaire Republican donor Miriam Adelson is preparing to make a significant financial commitment to support Former President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign. Adelson, a prominent GOP benefactor, is reportedly willing to allocate up to $100 million through her political action committee, Preserve America, to help Former President Donald Trump secure a return to the White House.
Adelson’s intentions were revealed during a recent campaign event at Former President Donald Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. Andy Abboud, a political aide to Adelson, was overheard discussing the scale of Adelson’s support, emphasizing that the financier is prepared to do “whatever it takes” for Former President Donald Trump’s victory. In a confirmation of these remarks, Abboud stated, “In her mind, and in the minds of those who run Preserve America, we are going to do whatever it takes for him to win.”
The Preserve America super PAC, which has already received $5 million from Adelson, is expected to exceed the more than $100 million it spent in the 2020 election cycle. According to senior advisor David Carney, the PAC plans to significantly increase its expenditure, with over $40 million already allocated for television ads targeting key battleground states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. These ads will not only support Former President Donald Trump but also aim to oppose Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee.
Adelson, who was awarded the Medal of Freedom by Former President Donald Trump in 2018, has endorsed the former president vigorously, urging Jewish voters to support him and stressing Former President Donald Trump’s commitment to Israel. Her financial backing is set to play a crucial role in the upcoming election, reflecting the continued influence of major donors in American politics.
Adelson, the widow of late casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, holds a net worth of over $28 billion and has a significant stake in Las Vegas Sands. Both Miriam and Sheldon Adelson have been key financial supporters of Former President Donald Trump since his 2016 campaign, contributing over $200 million to Republicans in the 2020 election, with substantial amounts directed to Preserve America. Despite recent controversies and internal criticisms, there is no indication that Adelson will reduce her financial support for Former President Donald Trump’s campaign.
