The Ministry of Ayush’s nationwide initiative, Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyaan, has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing five Guinness World Records. The campaign, designed to promote holistic healthcare and raise global awareness about Ayurveda, has received widespread acclaim for its unprecedented success.
One of the primary records set by the campaign is for the most pledges received for a health campaign within a week. The campaign collected an astounding 6,004,912 pledges, easily surpassing the minimum required target of 14,571. Furthermore, it set a new benchmark for the most pledges received in a month, amassing 13,892,976 pledges—breaking the previous record of 58,284, which was held by Cigna and CMB Life Insurance Company in China. This massive outpouring of support also led to the creation of a new world record for the most pledges received for a health campaign overall, surpassing the previous high of 569,057 pledges set by Zifi FDC.
The campaign also made history in the digital domain, setting two significant records. It created the largest online photo album of people displaying a digital certificate, with a total of 62,525 photos—more than double the previous record of 29,068 photos set by Accenture Solutions. Additionally, Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyaan achieved the record for the largest online video album of people reciting the same sentence, with 12,798 videos—surpassing the previous record of 8,992 videos held by Ghe Bharari, Rahul Kulkarni, and Neelam Edlabadkar.
Guinness World Records adjudicator Richard Williams Stenning officially recognized these achievements and presented the certificates to Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, during an event held in Mumbai. Prataprao Jadhav expressed his pride in the Ministry’s commitment to advancing the Ayush healthcare systems, while Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, the Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, pointed out that this was the sixth world record set by the Ministry within just two months.
The Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyaan was launched on October 29, coinciding with the 9th Ayurveda Day. The first phase of the campaign witnessed a tremendous response, with over 1.29 crore individuals participating in the prakriti parikshan (nature assessment) process—far exceeding the initial target of 1 crore. This phase also involved the active participation of 1,81,667 volunteers, including 1,33,758 Ayurveda students, 16,155 teachers, and 31,754 physicians, setting a world record for the highest level of participation in a health campaign.
