Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee incurred a minor injury on Saturday when she slipped and fell while boarding a helicopter in Durgapur. The incident occurred as she was ascending the movable stairs to enter the aircraft, which was awaiting her presence to depart.
Banerjee, also the Trinamool Congress supremo, was swiftly assisted by her security personnel after the mishap. Despite the minor injury, she proceeded with her planned journey to Asansol without delay.
This is not the first time Banerjee has faced such an incident. In May of the previous year, she was hospitalized after sustaining injuries from a fall near her residence in Kolkata, resulting in a deep cut on her forehead. On that occasion, she was admitted to the state-run SSKM hospital for medical attention.
Additionally, in June 2023, Banerjee suffered a leg injury following an emergency landing of her helicopter at the Sevoke airbase near Siliguri due to adverse weather conditions. The incident led to ligament injuries in her left knee and hip joints.
As Mamata Banerjee’s health remains under observation, she continues to fulfill her duties despite occasional setbacks, displaying resilience in the face of adversity.
