On September 9, 2024, at the launch of Congress veteran Sushil Kumar Shinde’s memoir “Five Decades in Politics,” Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge emphasized that there should be no retirement age in politics. Speaking in New Delhi, Kharge asserted that individuals with ideological conviction and a dedication to public service should continue their political work until their last breath. He praised Shinde’s contributions and urged that experienced politicians should work tirelessly for the nation and their party, not for personal gain but as a “return gift” to the people.
