In a significant move to address unemployment and support young men, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has launched the ‘Ladka Bhau’ Yojana, a new job training and stipend scheme. Announced during the Ashadhi Ekadashi celebrations in Pandharpur, this initiative is part of the broader ‘Mukhya Mantri Yuva Karya-Prashikshan Yojana’ and aims to provide financial support and practical work experience to young men across the state.
The ‘Ladka Bhau’ Yojana is designed to offer job training and a monthly stipend to eligible candidates. The scheme targets class 12 graduates, diploma holders, and bachelor’s degree holders, providing financial assistance as follows:
– Class 12 Graduates: Rs. 6,000 per month
– Diploma Holders: Rs. 8,000 per month
– Bachelor’s Degree Holders: Rs. 10,000 per month
This initiative seeks to bridge the gap between educational qualifications and employment by offering apprenticeships funded by the state government. It aims to provide practical work experience while simultaneously benefiting industries with a pool of trained manpower. The scheme is set to cater to approximately 10 lakh youths across Maharashtra.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the ‘Ladka Bhau’ Yojana, candidates must meet the following criteria:
– Age: Between 18 and 35 years
– Educational Qualification: Minimum of class 12, ITI, diploma, or degree
– Residency: Must be a resident of Maharashtra
– Documentation: Aadhaar registration, a bank account linked to Aadhaar, and an employment registration number obtained by registering on the Commissionerate of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation web portal.
Students currently enrolled in educational programs are not eligible for this scheme. The application process involves registration on the aforementioned web portal to secure an employment registration number.
Implementation and Operational Details
The ‘Ladka Bhau’ Yojana will operate through a dedicated online platform that connects job seekers with employers. This platform is intended to streamline the process of finding apprenticeships and matching them with suitable industries.
Participating industries and establishments must fulfill several requirements:
– Operational Duration: Must have been in operation for at least three years
– Registrations: Must be registered with RPF, ESIC, GST, DPIT, and Udyog Aadhar
– Certification: Must hold a certificate of incorporation
These criteria ensure that the participating establishments are well-established and capable of providing meaningful training to the candidates.
