LLNL ranked among Glassdoor’s Best-Led Companies of 2025

Newswise — Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) has been recognized for the second year as one of Glassdoor’s Best-Led Companies in the United States, earning the No. 32 spot out of 50 on the 2025 list. The annual award honors organizations with outstanding senior leadership teams, as determined by employee feedback submitted anonymously on Glassdoor over the past year.

Budil has led the Laboratory since her appointment in March 2021. As the 13th director and the first woman to hold the position, she works with the senior management team to guide a workforce of more than 9,000 employees. LLNL is managed by Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC for the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration.

When providing a company review, LLNL employees rate several factors tied to their employment experience, including CEO job performance and senior management. Employees can choose to approve, disapprove or express no opinion of the CEO. They are also asked to share reasons to work for the company, any downsides and advice to management. Glassdoor’s Best-Led Companies algorithm uses Review Intelligence, a sentiment analysis tool that reads, analyzes and categorizes reviews to surface topics, insights and trends related to senior leadership.

Glassdoor award winners for Best-Led Companies 2025 are determined using Glassdoor’s proprietary awards algorithm, based on the quantity, quality and consistency of company reviews submitted by U.S.-based employees between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. Companies considered for the list must have more than 1,000 employees and receive at least 75 ratings across CEO job performance and senior management.
