Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov criticized Kyiv’s stance, citing President Zelenskyy’s decree banning negotiations as a major hurdle.
  • Russian Conditions for Talks: Russia demands that Ukraine cede control of the annexed regions of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, and Donetsk, while Ukraine insists on the complete withdrawal of Russian troops as a precondition for talks.
  • YouTube Speed Reduction: Russian lawmakers announced a potential reduction in YouTube speeds by up to 70% to pressure the platform into reinstating blocked Russian channels and complying with local regulations.
  • Suspect in High-Profile Murder: An 18-year-old has been detained in connection with the murder of former Ukrainian lawmaker Iryna Farion, who was shot in Lviv. The investigation suggests possible planning with others.
  • German Foreign Minister’s Appeal: Annalena Baerbock urged China to increase its efforts for peace in Ukraine, emphasizing China’s responsibility as a Security Council member to not support Russia.
  • Kuleba’s Visit to Hong Kong: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba visited Hong Kong, urging its administration to prevent Russia from using Hong Kong as a route to evade Western sanctions.
  • Joint Military Drills: Russia and China conducted joint air force exercises near Alaska, involving nuclear-capable bombers. The drills were conducted in international airspace and were not deemed a direct threat by NORAD.
  • Increased Drone Attacks: Russian drones targeted Ukraine’s port city of Izmail and other regions, causing infrastructure damage and injuries. Ukraine’s air force downed 25 of 38 drones during these attacks.
  • Drone Debris Found in Romania: Fragments of a Russian drone were discovered in Romania’s Odesa region, highlighting the expanding impact of the drone attacks on neighboring countries.
  • International Military Relations: The joint drills between Russia and China underscore the strengthening of military ties between the two countries, despite China’s cautious stance on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
