In a light-hearted jab at the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu took to social media to share a playful post after RCB’s loss in Eliminator 1 against the Rajasthan Royals. Ambati Rayudu, a former player of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), posted a video from CSK’s previous campaign, showcasing their fifth title win.
The video featured CSK players such as Devon Conway, Ravindra Jadeja, Ajinkya Rahane, and Moeen Ali, celebrating the team’s victory by gesturing ‘five’ with their hands. Ambati Rayudu captioned the post with a gentle reminder from the five-time champions.
CSK bowlers Matheesha Pathirana and Deepak Chahar joined in the banter, reacting with humorous emojis. Deepak Chahar, recovering from an injury, and Pathirana, who had to return home due to a hamstring injury, added light-hearted comments to Ambati Rayudu’s post.
Despite a strong start in the IPL 2024 season, CSK faced an unexpected exit after RCB’s surge into the playoffs. RCB’s turnaround, winning six consecutive matches, resulted in them overtaking CSK’s playoff spot. CSK’s hopes for a title win this season were dashed as they faced batting inconsistencies, extending their wait for a championship.
