India’s action-packed day at Paris Olympics 2024: Full schedule for July 31 | CliqExplainer

India’s journey at the Paris Olympics 2024 continues with an eventful schedule on Wednesday, July 31. The nation celebrated a historic achievement on Tuesday as Manu Bhaker became the first Indian woman to win multiple Olympic medals in a single edition. Teaming up with Sarabjot Singh, Bhaker secured a bronze in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event, marking a significant milestone for India.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, Indian athletes have the opportunity to add to their medal tally. Notably, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Swapnil Kusale will compete in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions qualifiers. Simultaneously, Shreyasi Singh and Rajeshwari Kumari aim to secure a place in the Women’s Trap final. The nation’s shooters have demonstrated exceptional skill, and their performances on Wednesday are highly anticipated.

In badminton, top shuttlers PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen, and HS Prannoy will strive to progress to the knockout stages. Sindhu faces Estonia’s Kristin Kuuba, while Sen is set to compete against Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie. Prannoy will face Vietnam’s Duc Phat Le later in the evening. The badminton matches promise to be thrilling, with each player aiming for victory and a step closer to Olympic glory.

Indian archery veterans Tarundeep Rai and Deepika Kumari will participate in individual events following their challenging performances in team events. Kumari will compete against Estonia’s Reena Parnat, while Rai takes on Great Britain’s Tom Hall. Both archers are determined to redeem themselves and advance further in the competition.

In table tennis, Sreeja Akula and Manika Batra will be in action. Akula faces Singapore’s Jian Zeng in the Women’s Singles round of 32, while Batra awaits the outcome of a match between Hong Kong’s Chengzhu Zhu and Japan’s Miu Hirano to determine her opponent in the round of 16. Their matches are crucial as they seek to make a mark in the tournament.

Boxing enthusiasts will have their eyes on Lovlina Borgohain and Nishant Dev. Borgohain, competing in the Women’s 75kg round of 16, will face Norway’s Sunniva Hofstad. Meanwhile, Dev will take on Ecuador’s Jose Gabriel Rodriguez Tenorio in the Men’s 71kg round of 16. Both boxers are prepared to showcase their prowess and aim for advancement in their respective categories.

Equestrian Anush Agarwalla continues his journey in the Dressage Individual Grand Prix, participating in Day 2 of the event. His performance will be closely watched as he strives for excellence in this prestigious event.
