The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc, spearheaded by the opposition, is set to convene today in New Delhi. The crucial meeting aims to chart out the bloc’s strategy post the announcement of Lok Sabha poll results scheduled for June 4.
Hosted at the residence of Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge, the gathering is expected to draw chiefs of all allied opposition parties. Among the anticipated attendees are Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav.
However, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her inability to participate, citing ongoing Lok Sabha elections in her state and Cyclone Remal relief efforts. Mamata Banerjee emphasized her commitment to addressing the pressing matters in West Bengal.
Similarly, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin will be absent, with DMK’s parliamentary party leader, T.R. Baalu, representing the party at the meeting.
The INDIA bloc, comprising 28 opposition parties, aims to present a formidable front against the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
