Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful message from Rajasthan’s Bikaner, calling Operation Sindoor a decisive response to the Pahalgam terror attack. Speaking with emotional force, he said that those who tried to erase the ‘sindoor’ of India’s daughters have now been reduced to dust. The operation, carried out on May 7 by India’s armed forces, targeted and destroyed nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) within just 22 minutes. PM Modi described this mission as a fierce expression of the new India’s strength and resolve.
Operation Sindoor: A Coordinated Military Response
Following the deadly April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 civilian lives, India launched a targeted operation against terror outfits including Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen, and Lashkar-e-Taiba. The operation, dubbed Operation Sindoor, saw the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force coming together in an unprecedented show of force. Over 100 terrorists were eliminated in the coordinated strikes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that this response was not just a matter of military strategy, but a moral commitment to the nation.
Symbolism and National Sentiment
Addressing a rally in Deshnoke, PM Modi invoked deep national emotions. He recalled how the attackers had targeted women by asking their religion before killing them. Referring to this brutal act, he said that the bullets fired in Kashmir pierced the hearts of 140 crore Indians. He declared that with the support of citizens and the bravery of the armed forces, India fulfilled its vow to avenge every drop of innocent blood spilled.
He described Operation Sindoor not as an act of revenge, but as a new form of justice. PM Modi reminded the crowd of his earlier pledge made in Churu after the Balakot airstrike, reaffirming that India will never bow down. He said the enemies of the nation, who once boasted of their weapons, now lie buried under rubble. Pakistan’s attempted retaliation through drones, shelling, and UAVs was thwarted by Indian defence systems. While both nations eventually reached a ceasefire, India has continued its punitive measures, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty.
