Computers and phones are very important today, but using them a lot can make our eyes, neck, hands, and feet tired. Many people get tired eyes, feel dry, or itch. We can’t make you use screens less, but we can give you advice on how to keep your eyes safe when you use the computer for a long time.
1. Do not put your computer monitor near a window

When using a computer, too much light can bother you. Don’t put your computer close to a window, as outside light reflecting on your screen can hurt your eyes. If it’s too bright, use curtains or put on an anti-glare screen to help.
2. Adjust the display of your computer
When you are reading your school/college notes or even a long PDF file, adjust the brightness of your computer screen to make sure that the light is neither too bright nor too dark. This is one of the essential eye health tips that will go a long way to ensure the safety of your eyes.
3. Adjust the height of your monitor
To avoid hurting your neck and eyes, place the middle of your computer screen a bit lower, around 5 to 9 inches below your straight line of sight. You should be able to look just over the top of the screen comfortably, without bending your neck in a strange way.
4. Give your eyes a break
This is a great tip for eye care! Don’t stare at your computer for too long. Every 20 minutes, take a short break. Look around, walk a bit, or grab a snack. Move your head in a circle for 10 seconds. Do this often, and you’ll feel less strain in your eyes, and you’ll work better. This helps whether you are at the office or at home. Your eyes need these little breaks to stay healthy.
5. Keep blinking at regular intervals
This might sound funny, but it really works! When you stare at something for too long without blinking, like in a staring game, your eyes can start to feel itchy and irritated. Blinking helps keep your eyes moist, especially in dry places like offices with air conditioning. Sometimes, you might even need eye drops. Remember to take breaks, wash your eyes, and blink for a bit to help your eyes feel better and not so dry.
6. Use proper lighting
Lighting is very important for our eyes. Too bright or too dim light is bad, and too much outdoor light is not good either. Don’t sit near windows with your laptop. Make sure your room light is just right, not too bright or too dark. This helps you see your screen and keyboard easily without putting extra pressure on your eyes. The right lighting helps keep your eyes comfortable while you work.
7. Get computer glasses
If you spend a lot of time in front of the computer, getting special computer glasses can help protect your eyes. These glasses reduce glare and brightness, making it easier to focus on your work. If your eyes feel stressed or your job requires long screen hours, see a doctor for a prescription. Plus, you can choose some stylish frames that suit you well. These glasses are a smart choice for keeping your eyes comfortable and healthy.
