The actor, known for her role in “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,” took to social media to explain her decision and the emotional process behind it.
In a heartfelt video, Hina Khan expressed how the constant sight of her hair falling out during treatment was “painful and stressful.” She revealed that the process of losing her hair was causing her significant emotional distress, prompting her to take control by shaving her head. “You can win this only if you embrace it, accept it, and I choose to accept my battle scars,” she said in the video. The actor also shared images of her fallen hair on her pillow and clothes, illustrating the toll the treatment has taken on her.
Hina Khan, who publicly disclosed her cancer diagnosis on June 28, described the decision to shave her head as a way to alleviate the stress and sadness associated with losing her hair. “It is very stressful and depressing. I don’t want to go through that. I want to take charge of what is in my control,” she explained.
Despite the physical pain she is enduring, Hina Khan emphasized the importance of maintaining mental well-being. “In order to work on your physical health, you need to work on your mental health. I want to stay positive, happy, and do all the possible things to avoid mental stress,” she said.
Offering words of encouragement to other cancer patients, particularly women, Hina Khan advised, “I know how hard it is. It is very, very stressful and painful. Don’t put yourself through all this. Simply buzz it off before it starts falling. Remember, you are still you, and nothing is going to change. In fact, you are more beautiful.”
The actor promised to embrace her bald look with pride, using the moment to normalize the challenges of her journey. “The pixie says ADIOS, It’s time to BUZZ it off! Here’s another attempt to normalize the hardest phase of this journey,” she wrote alongside her video.
