External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar is scheduled to embark on a significant diplomatic mission, encompassing visits to Singapore, the Philippines, and Malaysia, commencing from next week. The Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed the itinerary for this crucial tour.
In a statement released, the Ministry announced that starting March 23, Dr. Jaishankar will undertake an official visit to these three key allies of India in Asia. The visit holds strategic importance as it aims to bolster bilateral ties and foster closer cooperation on regional matters of mutual interest.
Significantly, Dr. Jaishankar’s visit comes at the invitation of his counterparts from the respective nations, underscoring the commitment to strengthen diplomatic relations and deepen engagement across various sectors.
“The External Affairs Minister, at the invitation of his counterparts, will be on an official visit to Singapore, Philippines, and Malaysia from 23 to 27 March 2024,” stated the Ministry.
Furthermore, the Ministry elaborated that the visit will primarily focus on enhancing bilateral relations with the three countries, providing an avenue for dialogue on regional issues of mutual concern.
