Esri India, a leading provider of Geographic Information System (GIS) software and solutions, has unveiled the 2024 Esri India Young Scholar Programme, aimed at acknowledging and empowering undergraduate and postgraduate students from geospatial disciplines across the nation.

The programme invites undergraduate or postgraduate students pursuing GIS or related subjects at universities in India to participate. Even students graduating in 2024 are eligible to apply, provided they register by March 10 and submit their projects by March 17. Submissions will undergo evaluation based on criteria such as creativity, innovation, real-world problem-solving, and effective application of Esri technology. Interested students can find detailed information on registration, eligibility, and other aspects on the official website at esri.in/en-in/programs/young-scholar-program/overview.

Designed to provide a distinctive platform for students to showcase their outstanding work in GIS, the Esri India Young Scholar Programme offers an opportunity to connect with a global network of fellow scholars at the prestigious Esri User Conference in San Diego, California.

Eligibility criteria for participation include

Full-time students of Indian or Nepali origin enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate GIS programs at universities in India or Nepal.

Graduating students of the class of 2024 are also eligible to register.

Individual projects utilizing Esri technology are accepted, with a focus on studies or projects based in either India or Nepal.
Only one entry per candidate is permitted, and group projects will not be considered.

The programme offers significant rewards for the winners, including the esteemed title of ‘Esri India Young Scholar of the Year,’ along with a trophy, certificate, and a 12-month ArcGIS personal use license. Additionally, the topmost winner will be granted a visit to the Esri Education Summit and Esri International User Conference in San Diego in July 2024.

The Esri India Young Scholar Programme serves as a gateway for students to gain recognition, enhance their skills, and explore opportunities in the dynamic field of GIS. It underscores Esri India’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering innovation in geospatial technology.

By encouraging students to leverage Esri’s cutting-edge tools and methodologies, the programme aims to fuel innovation and drive meaningful impact in addressing real-world challenges through geospatial solutions.
