On March 8th, 2024, amidst a global celebration of International Women’s Day, the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) and Prayas JAC collaborated to host a remarkable event titled “Her Voice,” dedicated to amplifying women’s voices and promoting inclusivity worldwide.
The event commenced with a compelling video presentation by WEDO India Chapter and Prayas JAC Society, followed by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. Amod Kanth IPS (Retd.), Founder General Secretary of Prayas JAC, delivered a warm welcome, shedding light on the origins and significance of International Women’s Day, emphasizing the importance of fostering effective inclusion across diverse backgrounds.
Dr. Sushi Singh, Ambassador of WEDO India Chapter, delivered the theme address, encouraging women to raise their voices against oppression and advocate for positive change globally. Tulika Singh, Co-Ambassador of WEDO India Chapter, highlighted the event’s significance in celebrating women’s achievements and creating inclusive spaces for all individuals.
Throughout the event, distinguished speakers from various backgrounds shared their insights and experiences on the importance of inclusion and empowerment. Sana Shakil, Managing Director of Patriot and a prominent journalist, advocated for safe working spaces in modern India, stressing the need for inclusivity.
Mamta Gandhi, Assistant General Manager at RBI, delivered a moving address on shattering glass ceilings through discipline and perseverance. Elena Barman, representing the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots, shared her personal journey and inspired young women to pursue their dreams with courage.
Anita Gupta, Founder of the NewAgeMompreneurs community, underscored the critical importance of financial independence and harnessing inherent power to achieve aspirations.
Wendy Diamond, founder of WEDO, sent an e-message emphasizing women’s economic empowerment as crucial for national growth and breaking barriers to forge an equitable world.
