Emirates Group, with its diverse workforce representing 144 nationalities, has achieved a world record in a massive yoga gathering held in the Dubai desert. This unique wellness initiative, designed to kick-start the new year, brought together participants from around the world to practice yoga at sunset.
The event highlighted the rich diversity within the Emirates Group, which employs over 110,000 people. Participants came from countries as far-reaching as Chile, Peru, Mexico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Honduras, Mongolia, Tonga, and The Bahamas.
Taking place at the Al Lisaili Camp, managed by Emirates Group’s Arabian Adventures brand, this desert yoga gathering marked the first time the world record attempt was held in the desert, offering a distinctive experience for all involved.
The previous record, with 135 nationalities, was set in 2023 in New York City on the lawn of the United Nations headquarters. Oliver Grohmann, Senior Vice President Human Resources at Emirates Group, celebrated the diversity of the group and emphasized the commitment to employee well-being. The event included employees from various roles within the Emirates Group, including cabin crew, airport operations staff, safari guides, and more.
The record-breaking yoga session was led by Emirates Group staff trained as yoga practitioners, and a wellbeing session was conducted to promote a healthy mindset for the new year. Music and relaxation elements were also incorporated into the event.
