Elon Musk, CEO of the social media platform X and billionaire entrepreneur, extended his congratulations to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming the most followed world leader on the platform, formerly known as Twitter. In a message posted on X, Elon Musk praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s achievement, stating, “Congratulations PM @NarendraModi on being the most followed world leader!” This announcement came on Friday and highlighted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rising prominence on social media.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently reached a significant milestone, surpassing 100 million followers on X. This achievement makes him the most followed world leader on the platform. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s follower count positions him just behind former US President Barack Obama, who remains the most followed world politician with over 131 million followers.

In addition to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s success, the current standings of prominent figures on X reveal a diverse range of influential personalities. Former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for the 2024 elections, holds the third position with more than 87 million followers. US President Joe Biden, with over 38 million followers, is in fourth place, while Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Hillary Clinton follow in the ranks.

Elon Musk himself is the most followed individual on X, boasting over 190 million followers. He is followed by Barack Obama in second place, with Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese football star, holding the third spot with more than 112 million followers. Canadian musician Justin Bieber and Barbadian singer Rihanna also rank among the top-followed individuals on the platform.

Elon Musk’s congratulatory message reflects the growing influence of world leaders and celebrities on social media, underscoring the impact these figures have in shaping public discourse and digital engagement.
