External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar commenced his participation in the Munich Security Conference with a series of significant diplomatic encounters on day one.
During the conference (currently underway) in Munich, Germany, Dr. Jaishankar met with UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron and Peru Foreign Minister Javier Gonzalez Olaechea. These meetings, conducted on the sidelines of the security conference, emphasized discussions on bilateral cooperation and global and regional issues.
In a social media update, Dr. Jaishankar shared insights into his discussions with the UK Foreign Secretary. They exchanged views on various bilateral and international matters, highlighting the importance of their diplomatic ties. Additionally, Dr. Jaishankar engaged in talks with the Peruvian counterpart, focusing on UN reforms and enhancing economic cooperation between India and Peru.
Moreover, amidst the diplomatic dialogues, Dr. Jaishankar also shared a lighter moment with the UK Foreign Secretary, discussing the ongoing India-England cricket match.

Meanwhile, other significant bilateral engagements involving multiple nations were also held on the sidelines of the Conference.
The US State Department on Friday said that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi after months of rising tensions between two nations.
