Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], October 25: Dr Suborno Bose, Founder and Chief Mentor of IIHM Hotel School and Chairman of Indismart Group, Unveils Chef Coat for International Young Chef Olympiad with UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili. He delivered the keynote address on ‘Prospects of Development of Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Heritage in SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) Countries’ at the historic 25th UNWTO General Assembly held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Dr. Bose emphasized the importance of ecological, social, and economic sustainability as key factors for sustainable tourism development. He also discussed the role of skill development and education in creating a positive impact on society and the environment.
In a blitz meeting with Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary General, UNWTO, Dr. Bose discussed the importance of Sustainable Hospitality and how educational institutions play a pivotal part in promoting sustainability. During his visit to Samarkand for the session, Dr. Bose met Aziz Abdukhakimov, Minister Ecology, Environmental Protection & Climate Change Republic of Uzbekistan, and discussed the bilateral association with Uzbekistan for the development of a sustainable sphere of growth for Tourism and Hospitality.
The session was attended by prominent scholars, researchers, community leaders, policy and decision-makers, and industry experts from the participating countries of UNWTO. Dr. Bose’s speech was well-received by the audience, who appreciated his insights on sustainable tourism development.
Dr. Suborno Bose is a first-generation entrepreneur and global thought leader in the hospitality industry. He holds the position of Chairman at the International Hospitality Council and is the force behind the IIHM International Young Chef Olympiad.
