A Delhi Police constable was apprehended by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday in connection with the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Examination paper leak, announced senior police officials. The arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation, which has already led to over 400 arrests.
Identified as Vikram Pahal, a resident of Jind, Haryana, the accused was detained near the Peripheral Expressway flyover in Baghpat. Pahal, who joined the Delhi Police in 2010 and served for approximately 14 years across various units, allegedly facilitated a resort in Haryana’s Gurugram for aspirants to access and solve leaked question papers.
According to STF officials, Pahal became involved in the nexus orchestrating question paper leaks after being introduced to Ravi Attri, one of the alleged masterminds, through his childhood friend Nitin from Sonipat, Haryana. His role primarily entailed arranging the Nature Valley Resort in Manesar, Gurugram, where around 500 aspirants were provided with question papers.
The STF further disclosed that Satish Dhankad, the owner of the Nature Valley Resort, was apprehended from his hideout on March 21. Additionally, investigations are ongoing regarding the involvement of Shiv Maha Shakti resort in Rewa, where approximately 300 aspirants were facilitated with similar arrangements.
The arrest of Rajiv Nayan Mishra on April 3 and Ravi Attri on April 10, identified as the primary masterminds of the paper leak, has significantly progressed the investigation. Mishra revealed that aspirants were made to solve the leaked question papers on February 16, a day prior to the scheduled examination on February 17 and 18.
With over 400 arrests made thus far, the crackdown on the paper leak scandal continues as authorities strive to ensure the integrity and fairness of recruitment processes.
