  • CUET UG 2024 answer key delay causing significant anxiety.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the provisional answer key for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2024 within the next 3-4 days, sources confirmed. Originally slated for release on June 30, the answer key has faced delays as the NTA ensures its accuracy before publication. Following the release of the answer key, the final results will be announced, taking into account any objections raised by students.

This year’s CUET UG exams were conducted from May 15 to 29 across 379 locations in a hybrid mode involving Computer-Based Testing (CBT) and pen-paper formats. A total of 9,68,201 students participated in the exams out of the 14,90,293 who registered, including 6,60,311 female candidates.

The delay in releasing the answer key has sparked anxiety among candidates eagerly awaiting their results. Madhulika Joshi, a CUET UG aspirant, expressed frustration, stating, “We took the exam over a month ago, and the delay in releasing the provisional answer key is deeply concerning.”

Issues of mismanagement during the exam were also highlighted by Ms. Joshi, citing instances of time loss at exam centers. Another candidate, Yashi Singh, echoed these concerns, noting the impact on students’ trust in the examination process due to logistical challenges like inconvenient exam center locations and delays in admit card releases.

Former education secretary Vrinda Swarup emphasized the importance of delivering accurate and error-free results despite the delay. “While the delay in the answer key release is understandable, the final results must uphold authenticity,” she remarked, addressing the need to restore students’ confidence in the testing agency.

CUET UG 2024 serves as a crucial examination for admission into undergraduate programs across central and participating universities, with scores accepted by 261 institutions nationwide. As the NTA prepares to address students’ anxieties, efforts are underway to ensure a fair and transparent outcome for all candidates awaiting their CUET UG 2024 results.
