The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is all set to conduct the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) for its January session on January 11, 2025. In preparation for the exam, the ICSI has announced that a mock test will be held today, January 8, 2025, to help familiarize registered students with the exam format and remote proctoring process.
The mock test is a crucial step for students as it will give them a chance to experience the online exam environment before the actual test. Students who have registered for the CSEET can take part in the mock test today. The User ID and Password required to access the mock test will be sent to the candidates via Email or SMS. This notification emphasizes the importance of participating in the mock test, as it provides an opportunity to understand the test interface and the proctoring system, ensuring a smooth experience on the day of the actual exam.
ICSI has outlined that the mock test will be conducted for a duration of 2 hours and will take place under remote proctoring. Students are required to log in 30 minutes before the scheduled start time to ensure they are ready for the test. It is also mandatory for candidates to download the Safe Exam Browser (SEB) in advance to avoid any technical glitches during the mock test and the actual exam. The SEB is essential for maintaining exam integrity and ensuring a secure online testing environment. Detailed instructions for downloading the SEB have been provided by ICSI, and candidates can access them through the official ICSI website.
The Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) evaluates candidates based on four key subjects: Business Communication, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning, Economic and Business Environment, and Current Affairs and Quantitative Aptitude. The exam is designed to test the students’ understanding and knowledge in these areas and is conducted through Remote Proctored Mode. This means that students can take the exam from anywhere in India while being monitored through online invigilation.
To qualify for the CSEET, students must secure a minimum of 50 percent aggregate marks and at least 40 percent in each individual paper. Importantly, there is no negative marking in the exam, so candidates can attempt all questions with confidence. This provides an opportunity for students to maximize their scores without the risk of penalties for incorrect answers.
As per the guidelines, candidates will not be allowed to use calculators, pens, pencils, paper, or notebooks during the CSEET. This is to maintain the integrity of the exam and ensure that all students are evaluated based solely on their knowledge and preparation.
The Company Secretary qualification is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as equivalent to a postgraduate degree, making it a prestigious qualification for those looking to pursue a career in corporate governance, law, and related fields.
ICSI’s efforts to provide a smooth and transparent examination process reflect its commitment to maintaining high standards in the education and training of future Company Secretaries. As students prepare for the January session of the CSEET, participating in the mock test today is strongly advised to ensure they are well-prepared and familiar with the online testing environment.
With the mock test today and the official exam scheduled for January 11, candidates are urged to follow all guidelines carefully and be fully prepared for both the mock and actual exams.
