The Congress party released its fourth list of candidates late Wednesday for the forthcoming Haryana Assembly elections, further solidifying its lineup as the nomination deadline approaches. To date, the party has announced 85 candidates for the 90-seat Assembly.
In this latest announcement, notable candidates include former Haryana Youth Congress chief Sachin Kundu for the Panipat Rural constituency and state youth wing’s spokesperson Rohit Nagar for the Tigaon seat. Additionally, Parimal Pari has been nominated for Ambala Cantt, Satbir Dublain for the Narwana-SC reserved seat, and Sarva Mitra Kamboj for Rania.
Earlier on the same day, Congress had disclosed candidates for 40 other seats. Among them, Randeep Surjewala’s son, Aditya Surjewala, a Congress Rajya Sabha MP, was named for the Kaithal constituency.
Other candidates announced include Chander Mohan for Panchkula, Ch. Nirmal Singh for Ambala City, and Akram Khan for Jagadhri, along with many others across various constituencies. Special attention has been given to seats reserved for Scheduled Castes, with nominations such as Pradeep Narwal for Bawani Khera and Pearl Chaudhary for Pataudi-SC.
The process for filing nomination papers will conclude on September 12, with the elections scheduled in a single phase on October 5. The results of the election will be counted and announced on October 8.
