Dehradun (Uttarakhand)[India], July 11 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday underscored the pivotal role of Common Service Centres (CSCs) in transforming rural India into a digitally empowered society.

Speaking at the CSC Day 2025 celebrations in Dehradun, he lauded the efforts of CSC operators. He honoured outstanding Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), highlighting their contribution to bridging the digital divide in the state’s remote regions.

“CSC is a symbol of change that has reached every corner of the country. It is the centre of trust of the common people, as well as fulfilling the aspirations of the people. Through CSC, the services of cities are reaching the villages in one click, and the gram panchayats of the country are becoming digital panchayats. He said that the role of CSC becomes even more important in a hilly state like Uttarakhand,” CM Dhami said, according to a release.

He added that CSC operators are making the lives of people simple and easy at the village level. He said that CSC operators are working to improve the future of the village. Along with providing digital services to every household, CSC has also created employment opportunities in society.

“More than 13,000 CSCs are operating in the state of Uttarakhand. Various works like UCC registration, multiple certificates and digital transactions are being done through these. He said that a science-based knowledge economy is also being promoted in the state,” Dhami said.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had put the vision of Digital India in front of the country, which is being fulfilled today. He said that the digital revolution is an example of the clear policy and intention of the government. The digital revolution has reached every village of India.

“The highest number of digital transactions in the world is taking place in India. Today, digital transactions are being used even in the smallest shops of the country.”

Dhami said that under the Digital India campaign in the country, advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing are also being promoted. “The state government is continuously promoting digital innovation. Various government services have been simplified by making them available online under e-governance. Online booking is being promoted through e-tourism. Data analytics and satellite imagery are also being used in the field of weather forecasting and climate change,” he said. (ANI)
