A team from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has arrived at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata following the tragic rape and murder of a trainee doctor. This intervention comes in the wake of nationwide protests and a Supreme Court directive to enhance safety and prevent violence against medical professionals. The Supreme Court has constituted a National Task Force to address these issues and ensure a safer working environment for doctors.

  • Nationwide strikes and protests erupted following the doctor’s death, highlighting the urgent need for improved safety measures.
  • On August 14, the RG Kar hospital campus was vandalized by a mob, prompting the deployment of security personnel to manage the situation.
