The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has foreseen a significant economic surge, estimating that business worth Rs 1 lakh crore will be generated during the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22. CAIT’s projection is founded on input gathered from trade associations representing 30 cities across various states.
Praveen Khandelwal, National Secretary General of CAIT, highlighted that this event resonates deeply with religious sentiments and triggers a substantial increase in economic activities. People’s faith and trust are fostering the creation of numerous new businesses rooted in India’s traditional economic system.
In preparation for the Ram temple consecration, approximately 30,000 different programs organized by trade associations are being held nationwide. These initiatives encompass market processions, Shri Ram Chowki, Shri Ram rallies, Shri Ram Pad Yatra, scooter and car rallies, and Shri Ram assemblies. Markets are currently experiencing heightened demand for Shri Ram flags, banners, caps, t-shirts, and printed ‘kurtas’ adorned with the image of the Ram temple.
The surge in demand is not limited to merchandise alone; there is also a rapid increase in the popularity of models of the Ram Mandir (temple). It is anticipated that over 5 crore models will be sold throughout the country, with small manufacturing units operating day and night in various cities and states to meet this growing demand.
In the upcoming week, more than 200 major markets in Delhi, alongside a multitude of smaller markets, will be adorned with Shri Ram flags and decorations. Delhi will also witness a plethora of cultural programs featuring folk dancers and singers from Vrindavan and Jaipur, adding to the festivities in various markets.
The consecration of the Ram temple not only carries immense religious significance but also promises a substantial boost in economic activities and the emergence of new business opportunities, as indicated by CAIT’s assessment.
