Quetta [Pakistan], March 4 (ANI): In a chilling escalation of human rights violations, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) took to X to report a disturbing series of student abductions by security forces in Balochistan.

The first victim highlighted by BYC was Ashfaq Baloch, a recent graduate from the Department of Social Work at the University of Punjab, Lahore.

BYC stated on X, “Last night, Ashfaq Baloch, a recent graduate from the Department of Social Work, University of Punjab, Lahore, has been forcibly disappeared by security forces from his hometown, Kalat.

Giving information on the next case, BYC stated, “Gazzain Liaqat a resident of Aapsar, Turbat, basically of Gishkore Awaran, is a 9th-grade student, he has been forcibly disappeared by security forces when he went out for classes.”

BYC further stated, “On February 28, security forces raided Malik Manzoor Apartment (Jan Mohd Road Quetta) and forcibly disappeared an intermediate student, Ayas son of Sabzal. He is a resident of Awaran.”

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has raised alarm over the escalating human rights crisis in Balochistan, calling the situation “state oppression trampling over all human rights like an untamed horse.” The group, which has long advocated for the rights of the Baloch people, shared its statement on X, condemning the continued violence, including forced disappearances, fake encounters, targeted killings, and what they describe as the ongoing genocide of Baloch people.

In its statement, the BYC noted that state repression in Balochistan has now reached what it terms its “peak.” The committee called out all institutions of Pakistan for their complicit role in these atrocities, claiming they have consistently turned a blind eye to the suffering of the Baloch community for over seven decades.

The group further described the situation as a “Holocaust,” accusing the international community of ignoring the human rights violations that continue unabated in the region. (ANI)
