A senior officer of the Border Security Force (BSF) has issued a warning that approximately 250 to 300 militants are currently positioned at launchpads along the border, with intentions to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir. However, the officer emphasized that security forces remain on high alert and are prepared to thwart any cross-border infiltration attempts.
Inspector General of BSF, Ashok Yadav, disclosed this information during a press briefing held in Pulwama district, situated in south Kashmir. According to Yadav, intelligence inputs have indicated the presence of these militants at launchpads, but both the BSF and the Indian Army have taken measures to secure vulnerable areas and remain vigilant.
Highlighting the determination and readiness of BSF and Army personnel stationed at the border, Yadav stated, “We are confident of foiling any infiltration bid.”
Yadav also noted that there has been a notable increase in the connection between security forces and the local population of Kashmir in recent years. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two, stating that it could lead to enhanced developmental activities in the region.
