Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 26 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed confidence that the result will be in BJP’s favour in all the 12 seats where the elections have been conducted till now in the first and second phase in the state.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said, “BJP participated enthusiastically in the second phase of elections today. We worked to spread awareness among the public. Voters are showing their affection and commitment to the party which has lifted our spirit. I wish to congratulate everyone. According to the voting percentage, we have assessed, BJP is going to win comfortably. In the elections held so far in 12 seats including phase 1 and 2, BJP is going to set a record in Madhya Pradesh.”

He further slammed the opposition after the Supreme Court issued a stern warning against ‘unwarranted’ doubts surrounding Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs)

“The Supreme Court has issued a stern warning against ‘unwarranted’ doubts surrounding EVMs and VVPATs, which is a slap on the opposition’s face. The opposition blames either the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) or the Election Commission for its loss. This was a method to make a mockery of the biggest democracy in the world. This is very appalling that the opposition raises its doubts about important institutions of the country,” he added.

The court’s verdict, while rejecting a petition calling for 100 per cent verification of VVPAT slips and affirming the credibility of EVMs, emphasized the necessity of exercising caution when casting aspersions on the integrity of electoral mechanisms.

Madhya Pradesh recorded 58.20 per cent voter turnout till 6 pm in the second phase of polling for six parliamentary seats in the state, according to the data released by the Election Commission of India. The polling for the six parliamentary seats –Tikamgarh (SC), Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa and Hoshangabad– began on Friday at 7 am in the state and it would conclude at 6 pm.

The polling for the six parliamentary seats –Tikamgarh (SC), Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa and Hoshangabad– began on Friday at 7 am in the state and it would conclude at 6 pm. (ANI)
