Following the recent swearing-in ceremony of the third Modi government’s council of ministers, the spotlight now shifts to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters, where discussions are underway to identify the next president of the party. This development comes as the party’s incumbent chief, J P Nadda, has been inducted into the Cabinet.
Alongside J P Nadda, several other seasoned leaders, including Bhupender Yadav, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Dharmendra Pradhan, have also taken the oath as Cabinet ministers. Their inclusion in the Cabinet has opened the door for a new face to assume the leadership role within the BJP.
Notably, some former ministers who were not included in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s new council of ministers are anticipated to be assigned key roles within the party structure. This strategic move aims to leverage their experience and expertise in bolstering the BJP’s organizational strength.
J P Nadda’s tenure as party president began in January 2020, succeeding Amit Shah. Past leaders who have steered the BJP include prominent figures like Nitin Gadkari and Rajnath Singh, each leaving their mark on the party’s trajectory.
As the BJP charts its course forward, the selection of its new president will be closely watched by political observers and party members alike. This transition in leadership signals a pivotal moment for the BJP, shaping its direction and priorities in the coming years.
