Uttar Pradesh’s Special Task Force (STF) apprehended two individuals on Wednesday for their involvement in a social media post that threatened to bomb Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and detonate Ayodhya’s Ram temple. The arrested individuals, Tahar Singh and Omprakash Mishra, were taken into custody from the Vibhuti Khand area of Gomti Nagar in Lucknow, as announced in an official statement.
The threatening post, made in November under the handle ‘@iDevendraOffice’ on a platform identified as ‘X’, explicitly targeted Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, STF Chief Amitabh Yash, and Ayodhya’s Ram temple. The STF, acting swiftly, conducted an investigation leading to the identification and subsequent arrest of Singh and Mishra.
During the initial phase of the investigation, it was discovered that the threat posts were sent using email IDs ‘alamansarikhan608@gmail.com‘ and ‘zubairkhanisi199@gmail.com‘. Subsequent technical analysis revealed that Tahar Singh was responsible for creating the email accounts, while Omprakash Mishra was identified as the individual sending the threatening messages.
Both Singh and Mishra are residents of Gonda and are employed at a paramedical institute, according to the statement. The STF is continuing its thorough investigation into the matter to ascertain any further details and potential collaborators involved in the creation and dissemination of the threatening social media post.
