The ICC released updated rankings with Smriti Mandhana retaining the top ODI batting spot while Indian players dominated the men’s T20I rankings.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest rankings from its headquarters in Dubai, reflecting several notable changes across women’s and men’s international cricket. The rankings released on March 18, 2026 highlight strong performances by several Indian players, particularly in the women’s ODI and men’s T20I formats. Indian opener Smriti Mandhana continues to hold the number one position in the women’s ODI batting rankings, while India’s emerging stars have made significant progress in the men’s T20I rankings.
Smriti Mandhana retains top ODI ranking
In the latest ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings, India’s Smriti Mandhana has successfully retained the number one position. Mandhana has been one of the most consistent performers in international women’s cricket over the past few years. Her elegant stroke play and ability to anchor innings have made her a key player for India and a dominant figure in global rankings.
India’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur has also made an impressive move in the rankings. She climbed to the seventh position after New Zealand’s experienced batter Sophie Devine slipped to ninth place. Harmanpreet’s recent performances have contributed significantly to her rise in the rankings.
New Zealand batter Maddy Green also registered notable progress, climbing five places to reach the 17th position among ODI batters. Meanwhile, all-rounder Amelia Kerr improved her standing to reach joint 19th position in the batting rankings. These movements reflect the growing competitiveness in women’s international cricket.
India dominates men’s T20I batting rankings
In men’s T20 International cricket, Indian players have achieved a historic milestone. Young batter Abhishek Sharma and wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan now occupy the top two positions in the ICC T20I batting rankings. This marks the first time that Indian players have secured the first and second positions simultaneously in the format’s batting rankings.
Sanju Samson also recorded a remarkable rise in the rankings. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter climbed 18 places to reach the 22nd position among T20I batters following his recent strong performances.
Rashid Khan becomes No. 1 T20I bowler
There have also been important changes in the bowling rankings. Afghanistan’s star leg-spinner Rashid Khan has overtaken India’s Varun Chakravarthy to become the number one bowler in T20I cricket. Rashid Khan has consistently been one of the most effective bowlers in the shortest format of the game.
India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has also improved his position in the rankings and is now placed sixth among T20I bowlers. Bumrah’s ability to deliver precise yorkers and control the game in death overs continues to make him one of the most valuable bowlers in world cricket.
Sikandar Raza remains top all-rounder
Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza has retained the number one position in the ICC T20I all-rounder rankings. Raza has been in exceptional form in recent years and has consistently contributed with both bat and ball for Zimbabwe. His performances have earned him recognition as one of the most reliable all-rounders in the format.
The latest ICC rankings demonstrate the evolving dynamics of international cricket where emerging players are challenging established stars. India’s dominance in both the women’s and men’s rankings reflects the growing strength and depth of Indian cricket across formats.
