Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], August 5 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that his government will be working with a 100-day target and is committed to the super six guarantees that they had promised during the assembly elections.

Addressing the District Collectors Conference at the Secretariat on Monday, Naidu said that they will be releasing a vision document related to the state on October 2 and will be committed to the super six guarantees.

The super six guarantees include the complete loan waiver for farmers and women under the Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA) scheme, an unemployment allowance of Rs 2,000 per month, Rs 2 lakh financial assistance for housing, free electricity for farmers, a Rs 15,000 annual grant for poor families and Rs 2,000 assistance for every SC, ST, OBC, and minority families.

The conference also saw the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who said that the previous government turned the systems into toys and the coalition government of the NDA aims to strengthen the systems to uphold public trust.

Speaking at the conference, Kalyan said, “People have blessed the NDA coalition with 164 Assembly seats, 21 Lok Sabha seats, and a striking rate of 93%. We must do justice to the trust they have placed in us…The previous government turned many strong systems into toys and emphasised that they withstood many insults and stood firm to revive these systems…We entered politics to strengthen systems. Even if we had not come to power this time, we would have stood firm in democracy and worked to strengthen the system. By God’s grace, we have come to power. Ours is a good government, a responsible government.”

He further lamented that the state, once a model of excellent governance, had deteriorated drastically in the past five years, becoming an example of how governance should not be conducted.

He also stated that the IAS and IPS officers used to compete to work in our state and urged for a return to those conditions.

He called on the experience and governance skills of Chandrababu Naidu to restore the state’s former glory.

“From the time of the state’s bifurcation until now, we have been struggling. In the previous government, it was a situation where entry into the state beyond the border was not permitted. We have come forward, overcoming all obstacles. We must take a step forward in governance, not backward. We are committed to the state’s development. The cooperation of IAS and IPS officers is needed for India to become a superpower by 2047 and for achieving the goal of a developed Andhra Pradesh,” he said.

Kalyan further stated that they are taking steps towards strengthening panchayats.

“I have taken charge of the Panchayati Raj, rural development, protected drinking water supply, forest department, and science and technology departments. For the first time in the state’s history, we are setting up Gram Sabhas in 13,326 village panchayats and passing resolutions to strengthen panchayats. We are implementing solid waste management in villages and have launched liquid waste management as a pilot project in the Pithapuram constituency,” he said.

Speaking of infrastructure development and water supply demand, Kalyan said, “Through the Jal Jeevan Mission, we aim to provide drinking water to 5.4 crore households this financial year. Our government’s goal is to build new roads and repair existing ones. We have decided to repair 4,721 kilometres of roads this financial year. The state has 29.23% notified forest area covering 37,400 square kilometres. In addition to the notified forest area, there is a 10,221 square-kilometre green corridor. We need to encourage afforestation on tank bunds, institution lands, and panchayat lands. The forest cover is low in Guntur, Kurnool, and West Godavari districts. Efforts need to be made to increase forests here.”

Kalyan also emphasised the need for everyone’s cooperation for the developed Andhra Pradesh.

“No matter how great the constitution is, if those implementing it are not right, the system will not work. Even with a weak constitution, if people are working for the public, the system will certainly work, as Dr. Ambedkar said. We have seen how the previous government dismantled the systems. We will move the systems forward together with experienced governance from Chandrababu Naidu, a person like me with a desire to learn, and experienced ministers. We will carry forward Chandrababu Naidu’s vision. We faced insults and difficulties for 20 years before the bifurcation,” he said. (ANI)
