Ahead of the formation of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) 3.0 government, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has advised his party’s MPs to stay united and focused on issues concerning Andhra Pradesh in Parliament. The newly elected MPs of the BJP-led NDA are set to meet on Friday to elect Narendra Modi as their leader, after which the coalition will stake claim to form the government.
The critical meeting to elect Narendra Modi as the leader of the NDA MPs is scheduled for 11 AM in Parliament’s Central Hall. Following this, the NDA will present letters of support to President Droupadi Murmu, endorsing Narendra Modi as the new Prime Minister. Senior alliance members, including Chandrababu Naidu and JD(U)’s Nitish Kumar, will accompany Narendra Modi in the meeting with the President.
Ahead of this, Chandraprabhu Naidu has called a meeting with his newly elected lawmakers at 9:30 AM. He met with his party’s new MPs in Andhra Pradesh yesterday for the first time since the election results were announced. During this meeting, Chandraprabhu Naidu urged TDP MPs to stay active, alert, and united on issues related to Andhra Pradesh in Parliament, emphasizing the need to set aside any internal differences.
In the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls, the NDA secured a comfortable majority with 293 MPs, surpassing the required 272 in the 543-member Upper House.
On Thursday, senior BJP leaders, including Union ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, held discussions to set in motion the government formation efforts. This meeting included newly elected MPs of the BJP and NDA constituent parties, Rajya Sabha MPs, Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of BJP and NDA-ruled states, floor leaders of legislative assemblies and councils, and national office bearers of the BJP.
Narendra Modi, preparing to take oath for a third consecutive term, chaired a meeting of the ruling alliance’s members on Wednesday, where he was unanimously elected as the NDA leader. Sources indicate that Narendra Modi is likely to take the oath as Prime Minister on Sunday, June 9.
