Radharamn Das claimed that Ramen Roy’s only “fault” was his legal defense of Chinmoy Krishna Prabhu Das, a Hindu monk, in a court case in Bangladesh. In a post shared on X, Das urged people to pray for the lawyer’s recovery, detailing the violent assault that left Ramen Roy with severe injuries. The attack, which also included a raid on Ramen Roy’s home, has sparked outrage within the Hindu community and beyond.
“Please pray for Advocate Ramen Roy. His only ‘fault’ was defending Chinmoy Krishna Prabhu in court. Islamists ransacked his home and brutally attacked him, leaving him in the ICU, fighting for his life,” Radharamn Das wrote in his social media post. The post was accompanied by a distressing image of the injured advocate in the ICU.
According to ISKCON’s Kolkata spokesperson, the attack was a direct consequence of Ramen Roy’s defense of the Hindu monk, and it has raised alarm about the safety and well-being of Hindus and their advocates in Bangladesh.
