Adani Airport Holdings has officially ended its partnership with Turkish ground handling company Celebi at Mumbai and Ahmedabad airports after the Indian government revoked Celebi’s security clearance. This move led to the immediate termination of ground handling concession agreements with Celebi at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) in Ahmedabad. Adani Airport Holdings has directed Celebi to promptly hand over all ground handling facilities to ensure smooth and uninterrupted airport operations.
Termination of Agreement and Operational Continuity
The decision to terminate Celebi’s agreements followed the government’s security clearance withdrawal, a critical move that prioritized national security concerns. Despite the abrupt end to the partnership, Adani Airport Holdings reassured stakeholders that ground handling operations at both Mumbai and Ahmedabad airports would continue without disruption. The company emphasized that new ground handling agencies have been appointed to take over the responsibilities seamlessly, minimizing any impact on airline services.
All existing Celebi employees working at CSMIA and SVPIA will be transferred to these newly appointed agencies under their current terms and conditions. This step ensures workforce stability and continuity of service quality during the transition period.
Adani’s Broader Airport Network and Commitment
Apart from Mumbai and Ahmedabad, Adani Airport Holdings manages operations at several other major airports including Mangalore, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Thiruvananthapuram. The company has reiterated its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service and safeguarding national interests across all its managed airports.
This decisive action comes amid heightened security protocols and reflects Adani Airport Holdings’ proactive stance on compliance and operational integrity. As India continues to develop its aviation infrastructure, maintaining robust security measures remains a top priority, especially at critical hubs such as Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, and Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, which connect the country domestically and internationally.
By swiftly managing the transition from Celebi to new agencies, Adani Airport Holdings aims to uphold seamless airport experiences for passengers and airlines alike, ensuring that operations remain smooth across its diverse portfolio of airports.
