In a dramatic turn of events in Nandalur, Andhra Pradesh, a wedding was abruptly canceled after a 44-year-old woman’s attempt to attack her former lover with acid ended in chaos. Jaya, a former software engineer from Tirupati and mother of a 22-year-old son, arrived at the wedding venue in Aravapalli village on Sunday morning to confront Sheikh Syed, her former partner, who was about to marry another woman.
According to police reports, Jaya and Sheikh Syed had been in a relationship for approximately ten years. However, in the past three years, Sheikh Syed had moved to Kuwait for work as a driver. Upon returning to India, he planned to marry on Sunday.
During the confrontation, Sheikh Syed reportedly declared he would not be with Jaya, prompting her to attempt an acid attack using bathroom cleaning acid. Sheikh Syed managed to dodge the attack, but the acid splashed onto his aunt, who fortunately did not suffer serious injuries.
In response, Sheikh Syed retaliated with a ceremonial knife, leading to minor injuries for Jaya. Both individuals have been arrested, with police registering cases against them under relevant sections.
The incident has led to the cancellation of the wedding and has drawn significant attention to the personal turmoil and violence that can disrupt lives in such intense situations.
