A tragic accident in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara district claimed the lives of eight individuals and left 23 others injured when a goods vehicle collided with a truck late Sunday night, according to local authorities.
The collision occurred near Kathia village, as the victims were returning from a family function. The group, consisting of 5 women and 3 children from Patharra village, had been attending a gathering in Tiraiyya village prior to the accident.
Among the deceased were identified as Bhuri Nishad (50), Neera Sahu (55), Geeta Sahu (60), Agniya Sahu (60), Khushbu Sahu (39), Madhu Sahu (5), Rikesh Nishad (6), and Twinkle Nishad (6), as confirmed by a senior police official.
Following the collision, the injured individuals were promptly transported to nearby hospitals, with 4 critically injured individuals later transferred to All India Institute of Medical Sciences Raipur for further medical attention.
