Three masked men opened fire multiple times and looted jewellery worth over ₹ 11 lakh from a shop in Navi Mumbai’s Kharghar area, a police official reported on Monday.
The incident occurred at 10 p.m. on Sunday, according to an official from the Kharghar police station.
“Dressed in black and armed with revolvers, the three men entered the shop, threatened the staff, assaulted them, and stole jewellery valued at ₹ 11.80 lakh. Within three minutes, they fired four to five rounds, although no one was injured,” the official stated.
The three individuals fled the crime scene on a motorcycle, with bystanders attempting to give chase.
A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act for dacoity and other offences. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the trio, the official added.
