A Farmer Day program will be organized in Gautam Buddh Nagar on May 20, 2026, to address issues related to agriculture and farmers’ welfare. The event will take place at the auditorium of Vikas Bhavan from 11 am, where officials from multiple government departments will interact directly with farmers and listen to their concerns. The initiative is aimed at providing quick resolution of farmers’ grievances through coordinated administrative support.

According to information released by the agriculture department, Farmer Day is organized on the third Wednesday of every month to establish direct communication between farmers and district authorities. Farmers from across the district have been encouraged to attend the event and present issues related to irrigation, fertilizers, electricity, crop losses, compensation, animal husbandry, and revenue matters.

Officials from Multiple Departments to Attend

To ensure effective grievance redressal, district authorities have directed all concerned departmental officers to remain present at the scheduled venue and time. Representatives from agriculture, irrigation, electricity, revenue, cooperative, sugarcane, development, and animal husbandry departments are expected to participate in the meeting.

Officials believe that Farmer Day is not merely a complaint hearing platform but also an important initiative to strengthen coordination between the administration and the farming community. Previous editions of the program reportedly helped resolve several farmer grievances on the spot, increasing public confidence in the initiative.

Farmers to Raise Agricultural and Rural Issues Directly

Despite rapid urban expansion and industrial development in the district, a large population in rural areas still depends on agriculture for livelihood. Farmers often face challenges related to crop production, irrigation facilities, fertilizer availability, land disputes, and access to government schemes. The Farmer Day program provides them with an opportunity to present these concerns directly before senior officials.

Discussions during the event are expected to include crop insurance, minimum support price, irrigation management, veterinary services, compensation issues, and rural infrastructure. Many farmers often struggle with lengthy administrative procedures, and the presence of multiple departments at one venue is expected to simplify the grievance resolution process.

Administrative Coordination Expected to Improve

Agricultural experts believe such programs play an important role in improving rural governance and administrative outreach. Instead of visiting different offices repeatedly, farmers can raise multiple issues at one platform, saving both time and resources. At the same time, district authorities gain better understanding of ground-level agricultural challenges.

As industrial and urban development continues to expand across Gautam Buddh Nagar, the agriculture sector is also facing new pressures and changing dynamics. In this context, Farmer Day has emerged as a critical platform for balancing rural concerns with ongoing development activities.

Large Farmer Participation Anticipated

District officials expect strong participation from farmers across villages in the region. Farmers will be allowed to submit complaints both verbally and in written form during the program. Authorities have instructed departments to ensure timely and transparent action on all legitimate grievances raised during the event.

The agriculture department stated that the core objective of the Farmer Day initiative is to strengthen trust between farmers and the administration while ensuring better implementation of government schemes at the grassroots level. Officials believe the program will help accelerate pending agricultural matters and provide immediate assistance to farmers fa
